About David B Wilson

When I was 19 years old I was studying a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science at university. I was working a casual job in retail to pay my university bills. At that time I thought I'd complete my first degree then undergo further study to become a medical doctor. But, during my time in retail I was offered a great opportunity to train the new employees who were joining the business.

Even though I initially suffered a lot of anxiety, when I trained my first group of learners, I realized just how much I loved teaching people. I'd found my calling! From that day on the idea of living life without it being about helping others grow and learn seemed pointless.

I became immersed in the world of Learning & Development, reading and absorbing everything I could in my attempts to become the very best corporate trainer I could be.

My first experiences of training, being in a casual job that I was just doing to pay the bills, meant that even though I was managing and training new staff, I didn't have the benefit of any formalized training on how to educate people. Once I finished my first degree, the casual job turned into a full-time permanent position where I eventually become head of the training department, managing and training new people to train others.

To make sure that I was on the right track, I continued to read and learn and became a sponge for everything "learning-related". I spent a whole lot of my own money, energy and time developing my new-found passion in adult education.

I have since worked in several large national and international organizations in Australia, including HSBC Bank, Optus and Myers. I've done several courses and certificates and even hold a Post-Graduate Degree in Adult Education. I've completed advanced communication and adult learning programs and I've literally trained thousand and thousands of people across a variety of interpersonal, management and trainer development courses and programs.

I continue to be completely passionate about helping others grow and learn and live the very best lives they can live. Many years ago I decided to specialize in helping other trainers master their training skills. I have managed and coached hundreds of trainers, and hope that my work reaches out to help learners in all continents to grow and enhance their lives and careers. I continually apply all of the learning, skills and strategies that I've learned and developed on my own to master my vocation as an adult educator.

Through the more than 15 years I've spent educating people I've realized there is always so much more to learn, practice and refine when it comes to teaching others. I've built this website because I decided that while I can reach many trainers in my own coaching programs, all the reading, studying, practice and experience that I have needs to be shared even more widely than I can do physically.

So, hopefully, through this website, I get to continue my passion around growing and helping and coaching, and by doing so I continue to help other trainers, like you, to enhance your mastery and benefit from the many great resources that I've built and found. This way you, too, can be a master trainer and an outstanding Learning and Development Professional.
